He’s sunk deep, chin welded to the arm, tongue escaping sideways, arms crossed like a man in a club chair waiting for a drink. His tortoise toy lies in perfect mimicry — legs splayed, shell to the cushion, a reflection in miniature. Nothing will move them. Nor should it.
